- The dressing surface of Cutimed®Sorbact®is coated with a highly hydrophobic fatty acid derivate which wound pathogens find very attractive. When the dressing is moist, wound bacteria and fungi are naturally drawn to the hydrophobic surface. They become irreversibly bound, unable to move back to the wound bed. The bound pathogens are removed with each dressing change, which helps clean contaminated, colonized and infected wounds by reducing the overall bacterial load.
